CSV to JSON Converter.

Paste comma-separated data or choose a CSV file. Turn rows into a structured JSON array, preview the result, then copy or download it.

Free, no signup, no uploads. All parsing happens in your browser. Quoted commas, double quotes, line breaks and UTF-8 files are supported.

Maximum 2 MB CSV text, 5,000 data rows, 80 columns and 64 KB per cell. Column values remain text to avoid silently changing leading zeros or account-like codes.

Convert CSV into JSON

The first CSV row becomes the property names. All subsequent rows become JSON objects.

Files stay on your device; or simply paste CSV below.

How to convert CSV to JSON

  1. Paste valid CSV or import a .csv file (max 2 MB).
  2. Use the first row for unique, nonempty property names, then click Convert to JSON.
  3. Inspect the JSON array and download a .json file or copy the result.

Example output

name, city followed by Asha,Jaipur becomes [{"name":"Asha","city":"Jaipur"}]. Every value is a string, including numbers and dates; parse to the correct types later if needed.

Accurate parsing, explained

Quotes and line breaks: Standard double-quote escaping is supported, including embedded commas and multiline fields. LF and CRLF line endings work.

Predictable schema: Headers must be present and unique; rows with extra or missing columns raise a clear error rather than silently shifting cells.

No external API: The local file reader and converter do not send CSV content to ToolForge's server. The page loads third-party advertising scripts, which may make their own requests.

Limitations: Expects comma delimiters and a single header row; not TSV, semicolon-separated data, automatic type inference or arbitrarily huge files. An unclosed quoted cell raises an error. Duplicate headers are rejected.
